Where to Find Craft Chocolate in Syosset, New York (11791)
New York has SO many good places to find bean-to-bar chocolate! But it can be tricky to discover them, because they’re spread out, and because many stores only carry one or two brands. Still, I was able to put together this short and sweet list. Hope you find something delicious!
At this healthy grocery chain, find Raaka’s fun bars as well as bean-to-bar chocolate from Taza, Theo, and TCHO (they really like T names there).
429 N Broadway, Jericho, NY 11753
This specialty chocolate shop is run by Long Island natives, Mary Alice and Susannah Meinersman and Eric Lobignat. Look for bars from Taza, which grinds its beans the traditional Mexican way, using giant stones with secret, hand-made carvings.
319 Main St., Huntington, NY 11743
Amid the beautiful, hand-crafted, artisanal cheeses, olives, and charcuterie, find a solid selection of bean-to-bar chocolate from award-winning makers like Askinosie, Dick Taylor, and Raaka.
154 E Putnam Ave., Cos Cob, CT 06807
This one is a bit more of a drive, but definitely worth the visit. Raaka means raw in Finnish and this bean-to-bar maker promises just that: raw bean-to-bar chocolate bars. They make all of their virgin treats in Red Hook, Brooklyn and offer personal chocolate making classes, in addition to factory tours. Remember to sign up in advance if you want to take a class!
